A night to remember
I remember that night in startling detail. I had gotten to Paul's house warming party two and a half hours late because of work. Everyone was already drunk. We played Circle of Death for a few hours before Seth and Ashley went home. That was when the real party started. Once they left we decided to play drunk strip Cranium which is kind of silly because everyone wound up naked under blankets. When Kirk and I had run out of clothes I started to tease him. I can't tell you now why I did it but it felt damn good to be in control. Since we had stopped drinking we before we started playing Ryan, Apryl, and I were all sober enough to drive home. For some reason instead of going home with Ryan, Kirk insisted on me driving him home which I was okay with since it meant that I was still in control. At his house I immediately went to his brothers old room and changed into some pajamas. After that I felt a little thirsty so I went down stairs where Kirk was looming in the shadows. I got myself a glass from the kitchen before Kirk stood right beside me. He took the glass from my hand and got me some water. I muttered a thanks and ran back to Eric's room where I closed the door quietly and locked it. I then proceeded to sleep like a baby.

Morning at the airport
I wasn't used to waking up at 8 in the morning, actually I was woken up at 7:40 in the morning to take my parents to the airport. Anyway I wasn't used to it. When I got home I decided to stay awake so I pulled out my mp3 player, speakers, and some clean clothes. It was time for a shower!
After said shower I took an hour nap because I had a hair appointment. Two shampooings in one day, score!

Changing
I turned the key and the engine revved. It wasn't too hot so I decided to wind the windows down. After much speeding I arrived at my house. I wound up the windows but my passenger side won't go up. When I told my father he became angry and came right out to fix it. About an hour passed before we were able to get the window up so we could take it to the dealership, why we couldn't just take it to the dealership is beyond me.
Some time that night my father knocked on my door. He actually apologized for being an ass. He actually saw that I did nothing to make the car door window break.

Come on, everybody's doing it
I sat around thinking. Everyone does it. I just sat in my room having random thoughts; I needed to put my application for the renaissance festival in, I just got a raise, what was I going to do when I got home, I really needed to clean my room. There seemed like lots of things to do but nothing that needed to be done. I could have gone to the library and checked out a few books but I didn't need to do it.
What I did need to do was go to work. So I turned off my lap top, set it down, and put on some shoes. My mother said nothing as I passed her on my way to the thresh hold. I opened the door and walked out into the sunshine. Something caught my eye immediately, an Associated Plumbing van was parked outside the neighbors house. The van seemed to glare at me as I stood paralyzed in the door way. My mother asked if anything was wrong. I started to relax a little, said that I was fine, and closed the door behind me. It's okay, the plumbers can't get me to join them in their construction world anymore.

I have no idea what I stepped on
It had been a while since I visited Kirk. Between the gas prices and my disgust for the very fiber of his being I just couldn't bring myself to drive 45 minutes to his house, my usual escape from my parents. I really wanted to get my copy of Eternal Darkness back from him which was the only reason why I would subject myself to any one-on-one interaction with the meat bag. I even had planned to go over a friends house as soon as he got home from work in order to escape my once paradise. So there I was, my heart pumping faster as my cars pistons pumped faster down the road. My nerves would be the death of me someday.
As soon as my car was parked outside and I walked to the door Kirk and his dog greeted me with a hearty hello. We immediately retreated to his bedroom as we had done a million times before. Upon opening the door I noticed that it didn't share the nutty smell of coffee, it was distinctly... Kirk's body oder. All over the place. As I scanned the area I noticed that he hadn't unpacked since he came back from school two months ago. It also seemed as if he hadn't done laundry in two months. After looking it over I jumped on his water bed followed by his dog and he reclined in his computer chair. We sat there for a while not saying anything until I pulled my copy of Rogue Galaxy out for him to borrow. He found my copy of Eternal Darkness while rambling on about a game called The World Ends With You. At about this point I noticed that Kirk had been loading a patch for WoW so I booted my lap top up, started to download the patch, and propped open a book (which is a great distraction for any time when you don't want to talk to someone). Kirk muttered a few things to me but I wasn't listening.
Around the time I planned on leaving Kirk and I had started talking and playing WoW when his mother called saying she needed to be picked up from the bus stop in an hour. I really wanted to see her again so I decided to hang out with him for a bit longer.
During our car ride to the bus stop we didn't say much, just listened to Muse and chilled with the windows down. I couldn't stop myself from looking at me in the mirror, god I'm attractive. On the way back however I was able to have a conversation with Kirk's mother. As long as I've known her I've never been able to hold a long conversation with her. She offered advise on scholarships when I go to apply for them in a few months. I felt like I was on top of the world.
When we returned Kirk and I hung out for a while until I noticed that he was either A. bored of B. tired. So I opted to pack up and leave him alone. The drive home was long but soothing. The perfect end to a little less than average day.
At home I unpacked my lap top and noticed that I had left the adapter for my mouse at his house. No worries because our friend was online so I asked him to talk to Kirk when he got on again and I have a back up, less comfortable mouse. Our friend said that Kirk had been informed which made me scratch my head and wonder why he was acting tired. I've recently come to the conclusion that he probably had enough of me for the day and didn't feel like kicking me out. Oh well, I'll have to remember to kick his ass later.

Transaction
As I walked towards the pharmacy I saw that my co-worker Victor had returned from his stint of being a rock star. I couldn't help myself but to plaster a girlish smile on my face as I walked away from him into the pharmacy. How ever I wouldn't be able to talk to him that night. As soon as I was in front of the register I was bombarded by customers demanding their medication. Register transactions were just automatic to me at this point. Put in employee number, ask for the name, ask how many prescriptions they had, ask for address and date of birth, ask if they had any questions for the pharmacist, scan prescriptions and purchases, ask for store card, tell them the total. This is what my day consisted of, juggling drive through and the front register while counting pills and labeling vials. All the while four hours of the day continued on.
