Horror of horrors, terror of terrors, I woke up on time, well before noon. Other than the fact that I was a bit groggy it wasn't too bad. I got up, got dressed, brushed my teeth, and picked up some breakfast. I was out of my house by 9:30, about 15 minutes earlier than I used to leave for school when I had a 10 AM class last year.
The car drive felt good, really good. Another chapter in my life was about write it's self and I wasn't just going to go through it haphazardly. But as I got closer to school I noticed that everything wasn't perfect. The traffic on ring road was the worst traffic I'd encountered in a while, it took 20 minutes just to get to parking lot A. It then took me ten minutes to find a parking spot, it wasn't actually a parking spot though, just an area where people were parking because there was no place else.
I walked in about ten minutes into class and was greeted by my new developmental psych prof. He asked my name, handed me a note card to put my name, address, and phone number on, and went back to his lecture. I was actually shocked to see a cute young prof for once, he was also pretty funny. The lecture was the same kind of thing that every prof explains on the first day of class, don't cheat, this is what we're doing in class, don't skip class, etc. At the end he wanted to know more about us so I told everyone my nick name so everyone would refer to me as Rei and explained that I was a plumber. My prof joked that he had the plumbers crack and I made a quick retort, the funny thing was he had no come back, it seemed like he didn't know what to do if a student made another witty come back.
After my interesting psych class I decided to find a real parking spot which took another ten minutes but at least I was parked on East campus. The rest of the day was taken up by getting my email reset since I wasn't classified as a student anymore and decorating my office. I had brought my Shaun of the Dead poster with me and a couple of wall scrolls but it wasn't enough to cover the wall that I sat in front of all day.
The CAB meeting was MUCH shorter than previous meetings. Everyone was quite and polite. We didn't have Rohry there to think of a million things he wanted to say at the last minute that wasn't on the minutes. But that was the only reason it was nice not having Rohry around. We didn't know when Rob O' Reilly was going to come to the school and we didn't know when we needed to meet to set up. (His office was also very empty). After the meeting everyone came back to my office to wait for the SA meeting.
The SA meeting went well, Rachel did well during her first meeting and my hand didn't fall off from writing notes. After the SA meeting everyone once again came to hang out in my office. I began to hold a greater respect for Rohry because I found out how hard it is to get work done when CJ is shouting in is speaking voice to someone five feet away from him.
