I was awoken by someone calling my phone. The first thought in my head was that if they wanted me to come in early, they had another thing coming. I then remembered that they didn't open until 10, I was scheduled not at 12 but at 10 and it was 10:30. One of the managers called and left a message as I jumped from my top bunk to get dressed.
When I got to work it was already packed. No one had been at the store to help the pharmacist with the refills from the previous night so there were two pages in the que. There was a tech at drop off and the pharmacist was checking prescriptions. As soon as I got there I called a manager over to punch me in late and started ringing people up.
About two hours in the pain began. Normally I don't get cramps but today was my lucky day, one huge cramp began to develop in my abdomen. At the end of my shift I clocked out and crawled to the bathroom trying not to throw up all over the store. For what seemed like an eternity I crouched by the toilet as the pain consumed my abdomen. When I was able to stand up I splashed my face with water and headed out.
Since I had no idea if Paul had any pain killers I passed through the pain reliever aisle picking up the generic for Aliv. After paying, I got in the car, popped one pill, and waited for the affects to kick in. Weighing my options carefully (either go home or go to Pauls) I decided that I should see Paul, I needed to get the pie plate back from his house.
The drive was almost unbearable. Jolts of pain pulsated in my abdomen as I drove down rt 3. Once I got there I was greeted. I decided my best course of action would be to lay under his kotosu until I felt better. If I didn't feel better in an hour I would take another Aliv.
After about an hour I took another Aliv and started playing WoW. I was really enjoying myself until the internet cut out. It was at that point that the rest of our friends came over. But then I saw him. All I saw was a flash of brown hair but I knew who it was immediately. He got a phone call and left the apartment to speak to her alone.
At first I huddled under the kotosu, hoping the warmth and darkness would keep me from panicking. But in the end decided it would be best to leave. I let Seth borrow my DS and copy of Pushing Daisies before I left.
When I shut the door I walked past him, not even acknowledging his presence. Half way to the car I realized that I hadn't picked up the pie plate. Upon opening the door I was asked if I was a murderer by him (we say that we're a murderer when we enter). I said nothing as I took the pie plate and left.
