Learn from your Mistakes Damn it!!!!

Mr. Ferdinand sat at his desk trying to concentrate. It was only his second month working as the Coordinator of Student Life but the students had already found a happy home in his office. During his office hours.

"Hey Tyler, can you give us an adverb?"

They were playing madlibs, Mr. Ferdinand smiled remembering his last group of students and suggested they have a theme for their next game. He didn't get any work done until they went to class.

Promptly at 5 pm Tyler Ferdinand neatly placed each project he had worked on in it's own folder and filed them away. Feeling that he had done a great job decided to go to the bar.

After walking into the dim dwelling he thought he recognized a girl sitting at the bar laughing with a few other people. He couldn't place the other faces so he shrugged it off and ordered a yuengling. But something about her bothered him. She seemed so familiar but didn't know from where.

Trying to put the thought of this girl out of his head he watched the Sox game until someone tapped him on the shoulder.

"You shouldn't drink, it's a school night Mr. Ferdinand." Said the girl.

He knew who it was before he turned around. It was a ex-student of his whom admitted she had a crush on him after he told her he resigned. This frightened Mr. Ferdinand, was she stalking him, was she a killer? Why did the crazies always find him?

The girl sat down next to him and looked at the television.

"Do the students follow you around like lost puppies yet?" She asked without turning away from the TV. "Have you found your next 'click' yet? I'm sure there are plenty of students out there that are willing to be your new best friends."

"Are... you stalking me? I could have you arrested you know. Just because I rejected you-"

"I'm not stalking you, I have friends down here." She pointed to her friends who waved. "And this isn't about me and you. I kind of figured you only thought of me as a student so it wasn't a big deal. I was pretty drunk when I texted you anyway.

This is actually about you. And the mistakes you've made. Our programming board was supposed to teach the students how to plan, budget, and manage events, no? Well, I seem to remember a certain adviser who did EVERYTHING for the students. That wasn't conducive to learning, was it?"

Mr. Ferdinand paid his tab and began walking out the door.

"You can't run from your past! Your students can teach you a lot. Since you're your own boss you need someone to learn from. I say this as your friend Tyler. Or have you forgotten that we were friends?"

The ex-student followed him to his car.

"Just leave me alone, I'm not your adviser anymore. They hired a new person." Tyler pleaded.

"I thought we were best friends forever. I guess you forgot the forever part. I actually had one question, just a question and I'll leave you alone."

Mr. Ferdinand opened the door to his scion but stood listening to his former student.

"When you left you told us that you weren't looking for a job but... you told Kat that you were. If you had explained what your intentions were we would have understood. We aren't really that much younger than you. Why did you lie?"

Tyler got into his car and sped off leaving his former life behind.
